Arunodaya Kothi Mall Netra Swasthya Kendra: A Major Step Toward Community Eye Care and Youth Skill Development in the Region

Lucknow : The Arunodaya Kothi Mall Netra Swasthya Prashikshan Kendra was officially inaugurated by Member of Parliament,  Ashok Bajpai, marking a significant milestone in community eye health and vocational training in the eyewear and optical dispensing sector.

The initiative, led by Kunwar Dushyant Singh, aims not only to address the pressing issue of needless blindness in the region, but also to empower local youth through employment and self-employment training programs in one of the fastest-growing sectors globally.

Speaking at the event,  Ashok Bajpai lauded the center’s dual focus. “This initiative is commendable—not only does it promote accessible and inclusive eye care, but it also opens up career pathways for youth through skill training, enabling economic independence and local entrepreneurship,” he said.

Also present at the event was Arunodaya Kothi Mall Eye Care Founder,  Rishabh Rastogi, who emphasized the center’s commitment to skill-building. “Youth will receive both classroom instruction and on-the-job training at the center,” he said. “We are also encouraging micro startups and entrepreneurship in the eye care and eyewear sector, to create sustainable livelihood opportunities in the region.”

The inauguration was graced by several eminent personalities and local community leaders, who extended their support to the initiative. These leaders are long-standing contributors to the Mall Vyapar Mandal and have consistently supported community development efforts in the region.

As part of the launch activities, the center conducted free eye testing for over 150 patients, with underprivileged individuals receiving free eye drops and reading glasses. This gesture reaffirmed the center’s commitment to equitable access to vision care.

The Arunodaya Kothi Mall Eye Care and Training Center is set to become a regional hub for preventive vision health services and vocational training, aiming to expand its outreach through collaboration with local organizations and educational institutions.
